When winter storms hit, power outages, road closures, and supply shortages can happen fast. Preparation isn’t about panic — it’s about readiness.

At SERGEANT®, we believe in being equipped before conditions turn. Whether you’re sheltering at home or helping family and neighbors, a few essentials can make a real difference in comfort, safety, and peace of mind.

Here are 7 simple must-have items to help you weather the storm.

1. Water
Plan for at least one gallon per person per day for drinking and basic hygiene. Municipal systems can be disrupted, and clean water should never be assumed.

2. Food
Stock non-perishable, ready-to-eat food that doesn’t require cooking — protein bars, canned goods, trail food, or freeze-dried meals. Aim for a minimum of 3 days.

3. First Aid Kit
Cuts, burns, and minor injuries are more common during storms. A basic kit with bandages, antiseptic, pain relievers, and gloves is essential.

4. Battery-Powered or Hand-Crank Radio
When power and internet go down, a radio may be your only source of weather alerts, emergency updates, and evacuation information.

5. Medical Supplies
Ensure you have prescription medications, inhalers, insulin, or other critical medical items for several days beyond normal use.

6. LED Flashlight + Extra Batteries
